Legislative Regulation of the
Music Therapy Profession in Cyprus
The profession of Music Therapist in Cyprus was legally established through relevant legislation on May 5, 2022.
To be eligible to practice the profession of Music Therapist in Cyprus, one must:
Hold a university degree equivalent and corresponding to a degree in music therapy recognized under the Recognition of Higher and Higher Education Qualifications and Provision of Relevant Information Law, which includes supervised practical training that complies with the Council's current criteria, or a university diploma or equivalent degree in music therapy, not recognized under the Recognition of Higher and Higher Education Qualifications and Provision of Relevant Information Law, which includes supervised practical training that complies with the Council's current criteria, and a professional license, which is valid during the year the application for registration in the Registry is submitted, issued by a member state or third country where the profession is legally regulated.
